Time

Time is a funny concept. Each second of you life is one you'll never get back, that you can never do over. In a car accident, the drivers often remember each individual moment of the impact, thus time is literally crawling by in freeze frames. To contrast, people of all ages have said or will say that "It feels like just yesterday I was..."

If you could be immortal, would you? Is it worth it to live forever, or is it better to die when your time has come? When all of the people who have made a profound impact on your life die, would you want to stick around? Religious ponderings I suppose, but sticky and interesting if you don't have a stone cold idea of what happens after death. Logically there is no God, science explains everything. For thousands of years people have worshiped a higher being without seeing evidence. It's faith-based, hope-based and makes absolutely no sense to scientific principles.

So if you can't prove hope, how does it exist? One might explain hope as a survival mechanism, but faith is an even larger stretch. Is death God's way of calling you home, of it simply being your time? Or is it all up to chance and accountability, is death ultimately your fault, and is it a fault at all, just a natural part of life? Is it possible to believe in logic and still leave the door open to afterlife ideas? Is it possible to believe in God or an afterlife and still be an intellectual? The two seems to war against each other.

"When I do good, I feel good.
When I do bad, I feel bad.
That is my religion."
-Abraham Lincoln
